Where can I download the Kasi App?

Our app is currently available for download on the Google Play store and Huawei App Gallery. Our iOS app will be available on the Apple App Store soon.

What documents do I need to sign up?

You can sign up just using your valid South African ID or foreign issued passport. Kasi offers different types of accounts depending on the FICA documents you provide.

How do you verify validity of documents?

For verification, you will need to submit a selfie of your face as well as a picture of your valid ID/passport (no copy, drivers license accepted). We then do a liveness check to verify your Identity as well as other background checks automatically. In some cases, our team performs manual verification to ensure validity of documents.

How long does it take for an account to be verified?

It takes up to 4 hours, but usually within 5 minutes from when you submit your documents for verification.

Are your cards bank cards?

Our cards are powered by Access Bank and MasterCard - and are linked to your own account number. You can tap, swipe , withdraw , do a cashback and even perform online transactions if you provide the necessary FICA documents.

How long does it take to receive the card after you place an order?

Normally 2-3 business days. When you order the card within the app, you will be able to choose a pickup point near you. Our courier partner, Pargo, will then process it for delivery and issue you with a tracking number.  Once it’s ready, you will receive an SMS and can simply go collect it.

What is FICA and what are the different types of accounts?

FICA is an act intended to combat money laundering and financing of terrorist financing. It requires financial organizations to identify and verify their clients.

We offer the following types of accounts depending on the documents you provide:

Wallet Accounts:

• Foreign Issued Passport if you’re not a South African citizen.

FICA-LIGHT Accounts:

• Foreign Issued Passport & Valid Permit if you’re not a South African citizen;
• South African ID if you’re a South African citizen.

FULL-FICA Accounts:

• Foreign Issued Passport & Valid Permit if you’re not a South African citizen;
• South African ID & Valid Proof of Address if you’re a South African citizen.

What are the different benefits of the different accounts?

Wallet Accounts:

• Your own Account Number
• You can receive EFTs from other banks for free
• You can send and receive money to and from other Kasi users
• You can’t perform EFTs to other accounts
• You can’t use your card for online purchases
• You can’t use your card internationally
• Your deposits are limited to R25 000 monthly.

FICA-LIGHT Accounts:

• Your own account number
• You can receive EFTs from other banks for free
• You can send and receive money to and from other Kasi users
• You can perform EFTs to other accounts
• You can use your card for online purchases
• You can use your card internationally
• Your deposits are limited to R25 000 monthly.

FULL-FICA Accounts:

• Your own account number
• You can receive EFTs from other banks for free
• You can send and receive money to and from other Kasi users
• You can perform EFTs to other accounts
• You can use your card for online purchases
• You can use your card internationally
• Your deposits are limited to R500 000 monthly.

Can I upgrade my account / change different FICA types?

Yes, you can change your type of account at any time. You just simply need to submit your outstanding documents within the app.
